Burbank, CA area brush fire in the Verdugo Mountains burned more than 8,000 acres. This fire has become one of the largest wildfires the city has ever seen. Firefighters have battled the blaze around the clock. In a span of minutes’ fires were popping up from everywhere. One home had burned, but no injuries have been reported, officials say.
700 homes have been evacuated from the cities of Glendale. Burbank & Los Angeles. The city has been under high wild fire alert due to heat wave and winds.
Three evacuation centers have been set up which include the McCambridge Park Recreation Center, 1515 N. Glenoaks Blvd., in Burbank; the Sunland Recreation Center in the 8600 block of Foothill Boulevard in Sunland; and Crescenta Valley High School, 2900 Community Ave.
Wishing all the affected the best and hope this is contained soon. We are forever grateful to the firefighters and emergency responders.
