Creek Fire ripping through Sylmar has prompted as many as 150,000 evacuations

The Creek Fire ripping through Sylmar has prompted as many as 150,000 evacuations along a big swath of the San Fernando Valley, mostly north of the 210 freeway.

Fueled by wicked winds, the fire has charred at least 11,000 acres. There are reports that it has damaged or destroyed at least 30 homes.

The number of areas evacuated because of the Creek Fire expanded throughout the day on Tuesday, and the map (below) shared by the Los Angeles Fire Department shows just how many neighborhoods are affected. It’s being updated in real-time.
